Anchor Point Early Learning Academy is growing, and we're seeking a passionate and dedicated Transitional Kindergarten Teacher to join our East Greenwich campus! We are looking for an educator who brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine love for helping young learners successfully bridge the gap between preschool and kindergarten. This classroom is specially designed to support children who would typically have two years of pre-kindergarten due to the state cut off for birthdays to enroll for kindergarten or for children whose families believe their child could benefit from an extra year in early childhood.
Our teaching team is made up of caring and highly qualified early childhood professionals who understand that every child develops at their own pace. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences and nurturing relationships, we help children build confidence, independence, and a strong foundation for future academic success.
As a Transitional Kindergarten Teacher, you will create meaningful learning opportunities that support kindergarten readiness while fostering curiosity, social-emotional growth, and a lifelong love of learning. You'll join a collaborative team that values innovation, professionalism, and high-quality early childhood education.
What we are looking for:
- Passionate educator who enjoys working with children ages 4 to 6 and preparing them for kindergarten success.
- Experience in early childhood education, Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten, or kindergarten settings.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire young learners.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and relationship-building skills.
- Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented mindset.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

- Implement a developmentally appropriate Transitional Kindergarten curriculum that supports kindergarten readiness and aligns with Rhode Island early learning standards.
- Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that strengthen early literacy, math, science, and critical thinking skills.
- Foster independence, confidence, and problem-solving abilities through purposeful play and guided instruction.
- Support children's social-emotional development by helping them navigate friendships, emotions, and classroom responsibilities.
- Build strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication and collaboration.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress to support individualized learning goals.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to create a warm, inclusive, and positive classroom community.
